Take the train. Really.
If you are one or two people travelling from Strasbourg station to Colmar station, the train wins and it is not close. Direct regional services link the two stations many times a day, the journey is short, and the fare is a small fraction of any car.
We would rather tell you that here than have you discover it after paying us. A private car between two city-centre stations, for two people with light bags, is money spent on nothing.
The coach, if you have time
Long-distance coach operators also serve the route and undercut the train on price. They run to a fixed timetable, leave from a coach stop rather than the station concourse, and take longer. For a traveller with a flexible afternoon and a tight budget, it is a reasonable choice.

How long does the drive take?
